Over the years, I've had quite a few people write bios about me and my music. I figure this time, I'll just let you hear it straight from me.
I started writing songs as a kid on the family piano and probably learned most of what I know about melody and harmony from singing in church.
I lived in the midwest growing up, and wound up in Southern California for ten years during my young adulthood, where I formed the Alt-Country Band COME AND GO with my brother, Shane, in the late 90's.
We started off playing the local dive bars, grew a following, and then went on to play the big clubs in L.A. like the Whisky, the Troubadour, and the El Rey. After a lot of self-produced low-fi demos and so-called albums, we signed a record deal with Purify Records and released 'SHINEBOX' in 2005, which set us off touring the country, and landing songs in TV and Film here and there.
After touring with the band, and as a solo act, I ended up in Fort Worth with my family for awhile. I started playing The Sad Bastard Show with some local singer/songwriter friends, produced a couple of demos, and wrote a lot of songs at the time.
I got an opportunity to move down to Austin in 2007, and with half my band in L.A., and a quarter of it in Dallas, I've spent most of the last year and a half putting together a studio, and recording a solo album entitled "Faith and Proof," comprised mostly of songs written while on the road in 2005 and 2006.
I'm very proud of this new record, and I know many of you have been wanting an acoustic album for quite a few years. Well, this is definitely it! I recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered the entire thing from start to finish, so it is something that is very close to my heart. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.
